Dear Sir or Ma'am,
Thank you for your inquiry about federal student aid. We are sorry that you are mistakenly receiving e-mails from us about student financial aid you did not apply for. It appears that the student mistakenly entered your e-mail address when submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA[R]) this year.
Unfortunately, without the student’s identifiers (last name, Social Security number [SSN], and date of birth) we cannot retrieve the student’s file to get a postal address to tell the student that the e-mail address was entered incorrectly.
If you happen to still have the e-mail that contained the Confirmation Page from the student’s original FAFSA submission, please forward it to us. It was probably the first e-mail that you received. That e-mail has a confirmation number we can use to retrieve the file and contact the student with a letter.
If not, please delete any future e-mails as they come to you. We apologize for the inconvenience.
You may want to visit our StudentAid.ed.gov website, which provides details about the U.S. Department of Education’s financial aid programs, eligibility criteria, application procedures, and award levels.
If you have additional questions, you may contact our Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243; TTY 1-800-730-8913 or Toll 334-523-2691) between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) Monday through Friday and between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) Saturday and Sunday.
We hope this information is helpful.
