새롭게 리뉴얼 된 크라이테리언 사이트 구경 갔다가 이마무라 쇼헤이 감독이 돌아가셨다는 소식을 보았습니다.
IMDB엔 아직 소식이 안 뜬 것 같은데, 크라이테리언엔 떠 있군요. 79세의 연세로 5월 30일에 암으로 사망하셨다고 합니다. ..그 분의 영화 중에서 <복수는 나의 것>과 <나라야마 부시코>, <우나기>를 정말 좋아했는데, 고인의 명복을 비는 바입니다.

The first Japanese director to win the Palme d' or at the Cannes Film Festival (in 1983, for the astonishing The Ballad of Narayama, and then again for The Eel, in 1997), Imamura was one of the country뭩 trailblazing new wave auteurs, surveying his society's sexual and social landscape. His dense filmography includes Insect Woman, The Pornographers, Vengeance Is Mine, and Black Rain. He was widely considered Japan's greatest living filmmaker.
