5월 23일 에드가 라이트가 촬영을 앞두고 갑작스레 [앤트맨]을 하차했다는 소식이 들려왔다.

 

현재 개봉일은 2015년 7월 17일로 그대로 맞춰져 있고 헐리우드 리포터지의 소식에 따르면 마블 측은 새로운 감독을 물색중이라고 전한다.

 

당초 6월 2일 촬영예정이었지만 케빈 파이기가 조 코니쉬와 에드가 라이트의 각본 수정을 지시함에 따라 제작이 미뤄졌다고 한다. 에드가 라이트는 여기까지는 수정할 의향이 있었으나 마블 측은 새로운 각본가를 투입시켰고(에드가 라이트가 개입하지 않은) 에드가 라이트는 새로운 각본을 5월 19일 받았다고 한다.

 

그 각본을 읽어본 에드가 라이트는 바로 하차를 결심한 것이다. 헐리우드 리포터지가 전한 소식은 다음과 같으나 현재로서는 공식적인 답변이 없으니 사실 여부를 확인할 길은 없다.

 

Wright, 40, is an irreverent British filmmaker, and sources say Marvel had been unhappy with his take on Ant-Man for weeks. Originally set to begin shooting June 2, the production had been put on hiatus while Feige ordered revisions of the script that was co-written by Wright and Joe Cornish. According to sources, Wright had been willing to make revisions earlier in the process. But the new rewrites took place without Wright's input, and when he received Marvel's new version early during the week of May 19, he walked, prompting a joint statement announcing his exit "due to differences in their visions of the film."

 

 

 

Their latest article suggests that, although Ant-Man was set to start shooting on the 2nd June, Marvel had, in fact, put the project on hold. The reason: Kevin Feige had ordered a new rewrite of the script - this was after Wright had already created a new draft with Attack The Block’s Joe Cornish.

 

The script ordered by Feige was reportedly written by another screenwriter, and its changes were made “without Wright’s input.” As a result, Wright left the project, and due to the delay in shooting, several heads of department have also departed.
